Trade Ellsbury + Reynolds for elite 3B?

Postby cs3 » Mon Jul 12, 2010 8:10 pm

im in a 10 team, 6x6 H2H league and am currently sitting in 3rd place (1 game out of 2nd place but 12games out of 1st , mostly because of my pitching. my team avg has been killing me lately and Reynolds has been a huge part that...
so i am contemplating making a move for a top tier 3B to help shore up my avg and still provide power numbers.
my 3 targets are
1) Longoria
2) Wright
3) Zimmerman
Im doing pretty well in with my current OF but i do have DL issues (only 2 DL slots and i have 4 injured players), and i would have to drop someone whens Ellsy returns, so im thinking of intially offering Reynolds + Ellsbury to see where that gets me.
The owners or Longo and Wright each have a DL slot available. The owner of Zimmerman is currently in 1st, totally stacked team, and doesnt need to make any moves but has always coveted ellbury.
does that seem like a fair offer for the guys im targetting, or am i way off with my player values?
Any other suggestions?

In a H2H I don't think those are bad offers, but I don't think they get accepted. Ells hasn't produced yet and people will be leary because of how long he's been out...

the longo deal was rejected as expected... dont know that im willing to part with as much as that owner wants in return for him.

which players on my roster would you be willing to deal (along with reynolds) to try to make the wright or zimmerman deal happen?
would you give up reynolds + granderson for youkilis?

none of the deals mentioned above worked out so i ended up trading Reynolds for Beltre straight up.
What do you think?

Not bad. So long as Reynolds doesn't got on a 2nd half tear.

Beltre will most likely outperform Reynolds the rest of the way, so you probably made the right move.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)
