I was about to make a trade where, because of cap space, I would need to release him. I am thinking of offering him plus Alex Avila for Jason Kendall. My remaining middle infielders are Ian Kinsler, Cliff Pennington, and Derek Jeter. And, because of the cap, he can not replace Pennington; only Jeter or Kinsler, and I think that would be a no. Reasonable?

What would the trade be where you'd have to drop him? You've got a good middle infield already, so you probably wouldn't miss him too much.

In a 6-team league I would have to assume there is plenty of talent on free agency or the waiver wire. I would have outright dropped him while ago, especially if he's still restricting your cap space.

He was not restricting my cap space until this trade; that is why I never dropped him. I was going to try to use him to get a small upgrade at catcher or SP. Any more thoughts?
