I have spoken to a guy in the league and he wants to get a 3rd baseman. He said he is willing to give a good pitcher up for the right player. I have mentioned about Cantu and from what he sounds he is possibly interested. I didn't offer him Rolen yet, but I might if needed be. He said he will look at the stats later.
He has Mark Reynolds, but doesn't like him. Even though he has a low Batting avg and strikes out a lot he has really good numbers and I had him last year. I was thinking about adding him to the mix, but he might wonder why and keep Reynolds.
Here is the pitchers he has
Felix Hernandez Dan Haren Roy Oswalt Ervin Santana Carl Pavano Tommy Hunter
Dan Haren came up from him, but I am not sure if he is going to be good the rest of the season. Would you guys trade Cantu or Rolen for Dan Haren?
I was thinking about offering him Cantu and Rolen for Lincecum or Felix Hernandez. I am not sure if he will do it or not, but by knowing him he might.
options to offer him or whatever you guys might feel. -----------------------
Jorge Cantu & Scott Rolen for Lincecum Jorge Cantu & Scott Rolen for Felix Hernandez Jorge Cantu & Scott Rolen for Lincecum and Mark Reynolds Jorge Cantu & Scott Rolen for Felix Hernandez & Mark Reynolds Jorge Cantu for Dan Haren Scott Rolen for Dan Haren
On the FA wire there is a few possible replacements if this were to go through and I don't have a 3B. ------------------------- Really interested in Troy Glaus Omar Infante
Others ------------------ Felipe Lopez Chase Headley Dayan Viciedo Omar Vizquel Maicer Izturis Ty wiggington Alberto Callaspo Casey Blake Brandon Inge Jhonny Peralta Edwin Encarnacion
i wouldn't sell both your 3B. while i'm not really that much of a fan of Cantu, i'd still rather start him than cross my fingers with a FA 3B. i'd look to sell Rolen high. I'm a Reds fan, and i'm hoping he continues this pace, but he's a decent sell-high player right now. i'd shoot high and lowball him with Rolen for Felix. if he declines, i'd lowball him again with Cantu for Haren. but do your research on Haren first. He's always been a much better pitcher in the first half of the season than the second half. look at his numbers, and if you're willing to risk it, go for it. otherwise, i'd look at one of the package deals, getting an SP and Reynolds in return. and finally, if he's holding his SPs too tightly, try packaging one of your 3B with a SP for Felix or Lincecum in return. eventually, i'm sure you'll find something. but start in the right places and aim to get as much in return as you can, while avoiding the possibility of starting a FA 3B

Thank you very much for your great reply. I think I will give what you said a try. I might do Rolen for Felix, I might start off with Lincecum first and see if he bites. If he will only trade Haren then I will go for Cantu, but not Rolen. Rolen, for Felix or Lincecum I will do.
Since, He will not view this until later today, so I have time to think about this further and see what others half to possibly say as well.
