Input Appreciated!!

Postby micelli » Mon Jul 12, 2010 2:40 pm

I am in a 12-man mixed rotisserie league, 8-man keeper. This is my 1st year in the league so me and 2 other guys got to draft the 1st 8 rounds alone with what was left over from last year. i was in 1st place for 2 months and am starting to slip a bit as i am now in 3rd. Not too concerned as my team hasnt been hitting very well.
i made a few moves here and there and was expecting choo to be on the DL until september. So here is my dilemma: We start 2 players are every position plus a DH. This is a very tough league as its mostly retired men who do absolutely nothing but watch baseball...

here is my team:

C Mauer
C Ruiz
1B Laroche, Adam
1B Lee, Derek (just traded for him, bought low)
2B Cano
2B Zobrist
3B Freese (coming off DL this week)
3B Cantu
SS Gonzalez, Alex
SS Valdez (Cabrera coming off DL soon)

OF Abreu
OF Gutierrez, Franklin
OF Pagan
OF Pence
OF Span
OF Dunn

I have Manny Ramirez coming off the DL this week and Shin-Soo Choo coming off the DL in a week or two.

I am going to have to drop 2 players?!?!? I have no f**king clue who to drop...here is my thinking on each of these guys

Pagan... was my most recent pick-up but man he is raking it across the board. Manuel said he will be starting in Right when Beltran returns so he wont be losing many at-bats. .315, .473, .372 28bb, 40 rbis, 19 SB's

Span...somehow he's batting .272, the 54 runs 16 SB's, and 37 BB cant be overlooked

Abreu...Doesnt have the power he once possessed but 10 HR's, 47 RBI's, 49 BB's and 15 SB's is hard to give up!!

Pence....Still a young player. A bit inconsistent, 12 HR's, 40 RBI's, 11 SB's. Hate to give up on his potential

Gutierrez...He was leading the league in hit for the 1st two months and has been cold as ice in june -july. He has power and is a bit streaky but definitely has the ability to bounce back in the 2nd half

Ramirez...I actually picked up Manny off the waver wire cause the guy that had him was fed up. I picked him
right when he got hot. Yes he is post roids, but the dude is is spectacular shape. .322, .525 . 412

Choo...no way i drop him, raked the 1st half

Dunn...wouldnt think about dropping

i can also move Dunn to 1st and drop Laroche or Lee.

LaRoche is notorious for his 2nd half play, and had a good 1st half as well.

Lee... come on, this guy has to turn it around sooner or later......No?

i gotta drop 2! i can package 2 guys together for another pitcher but pitching staff is also loaded

thoughs? questions?

Dunn is a major upgrade over Lee. You should probably do that. Gutierrez and Lee are probably the worst guys that you have another guy eligible to replace them.

I think the best course of action, if you need to get rid of two players, would be to package guys to get an upgrade at 3B for Freese.
