I was looking to trade Strasburg since he only has about 7 weeks left, I picked up Rodriguez and Scherzer to help balance my pitching back out once I trade Strasburg. I put him on the trading block and after some negotiations have come to this trade:
Martin Prado and Stephen Strasburg for Aubrey Huff and Annibal Sanchez
Martin Prado has been huge this year, of course (I'll be cocky and say I predicted it, drafted him in both my leagues), but Huff will provide me with some much needed power. I'm consistently in the bottom third in HR and RBI, while I'm in the top third in W, K, ERA, WHIP. I'm in third place in my league right now. The Top 6 Teams make it to the Playoffs.
Would you take this trade? WHIR!

I'd pass. Strasburg's innings will be limited, but they are going to be some of the best damn innings around. Anibal Sanchez has been good, but he's nothing great and represents a true loss in value. I also think Prado is more valuable than Huff. I get that Huff will help you with power, but I don't see why you have to throw in Strasburg to get the deal done. I think you have the right idea, I'd just like to see you get a little more in return.
Two other pitchers I was thinking about countering with were Javier Vazquez or Tim Hudson. I think Vazquez will have a pretty strong second half, even if it won't be up to par with 2009. While Hudson is already pitching very well and isn't under any radars.

if you could land either of those SP, I would say "yes". I, like you, believe Javier will have a strong 2nd half. He's already shown a sample of what he's capable of his last 5-6 starts. Hudson like you said has proven his worth. I tend to lean toward Vazquez and his upside, but you really can't go wrong with either
just to add one thing, if this were a roto league I wouldn't even consider this deal, but since it's a H2H league, losing Strasburg at playoff time would be devastating.
Just for clarification, the reason why I want to move Strasburg is because I believe I can make the Playoffs without him, and he won't be active during the playoffs.
Thanks for the help with both of my posts... I actually forgot about the Soto/Baker swap since I had accepted a deal. I got Soto and Vincente Padilla for Wandy and Cecil.
Anyway, with the updated info, I would take the deal for Vazquez. I don't like Hudson as the lack of Ks severely limit his fantasy value. However, Vazquez should be very good down the stretch. If you can get him to bite on that offer, i think it's a nice move.
I countered with Vazquez, so we'll see what he says. I will be happy with either him or Hudson. I was already winning Strikeouts most of the time before Strasburg debuted, and I added Wandy and Scherzer to balance Stras's K's.
