Trade Jimenez for nolasco/C. Young?... WHIR

Postby joshc » Sun Jul 11, 2010 11:16 pm

I am considering offering Jimenez and Ardsma for Nolasco, Chris Young (OF) and R. Franklin.

Am I getting enough value for Jimenez? My pitching is strong and I could use some stolen bases...

No. I don't think that you're getting enough. Jimenez, even if we rightfully expect a regression from where he is now, is still a top 5 starter. I like Nolasco and I think he's due for a strong 2nd half, but he's maybe borderline top 25. In order to make up for such a difference, you'd need to get a very strong player in return and unfortunately, I don't think Young is that. His numbers look pretty darn good right now, but they are propped up by that amazing start. Also, while the counting stats look nice, we're still talking about a player who holds an OPS just below .800. I also think that it's important to consider the fact that Young has had a very up and down career. What's to say that he won't regress to his 2009 performance in the 2nd half? I like Franklin more than Aardsma, but that doesn't make much of a difference.

You have the right idea, and this isn't isn't completely off base, I'd just like to see you get a little more value and more of a sure thing in return.

Dynasty League (Salary Cap)
Salaries should be included in your post then. Jiminez is probably real cheap making this deal even worse if thats the case. offer him on on the message board & you'll do better than this
