Given the recent success of the favorite player positional voting that is concluding, a suggestion was made elsewhere about doing a fantasy All-Star vote, to see what the results may be, as well as give those who cringe every time they see the acronyms WAR or UZR something they can enjoy and participate in here at the Fantasy Baseball Cafe. Who knows, if this really takes off (50/50) and I get the motivation (20/80), maybe I'll turn it into an article...
You can vote for any eligible player you'd like, with any justification you like (just like the actual All-Star voting), be it overall numbers, numbers given draft position; whatever! It's up to you.
Without further ado, we start things off with, traditionally, one of the thinnest positions in all of fantasy baseball that suddenly, doesn't seem so much this year... Catcher.
The top vote getter will be considered the 'starter', with the first runner up being the 'reserve' - AL/NL doesn't matter.
VOTE FOR YOUR 2 CHOICES FOR 5x5 FANTASY BASEBALL CAFE ALL-STAR CATCHERS
Carlos Santana (+5) Miguel Olivo (+2) Buster Posey (+2) Miguel Montero (+1) Victor Martinez (+1)
John Buck (+1)
Carlos is easily my favorite because he was free. Olivo because I respect the collection of the stats.

John Buck gets one of my votes purely because he showed me why I shouldn't overpay for catchers. In one 15 team Cafe league this year, catchers were taken ridiculously early. Wieters was taken at 5.06 before guys like Gallardo and McCutchen; Iannetta, Napoli, both Molinas, Doumit, and Pierzynski were all taken before 11.03, before most second-tier closers and a bunch of quality hitters/pitchers. And here I am, sitting pretty with John Buck, my last-round pick who's leading all catchers with 41 RBI (tied with Olivo) and second in HR with 13. Early-round catchers can stuff it.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao
Yup, 4 HR, 10 RBI's from Posey have come in the matter of 4 days. Kudos to Posey, but Santana has a lotbetter in terms of consistency so far. Will be interesting to see these two battle it out.
