For a middling 1b (AL Only), choose one (or two) of the following for the rest of 2010. If it is is a tie, choose the one with more upside in the future, but I doubt I protect any of them:
J Smoak (SEA)
R Branyan (SEA)
C Kotchman (SEA)
L Overbay (TOR)
M Kotsay (CWS)
A Marte (CLE)
C Davis (TEX)
Chris Carter (OAK)
Brett Wallace (TOR)
Jake Fox (BAL)
OBP instead of Avg., Hits instead of HR.

Thanks for your help with mine... I think I would probably go with Justin Smoak...I don't see any of them being worth anything except for a couple..and Smoak would be your best bet..IMO

I like Smoak. I think he's already a very good hitter and this will become evident when his BABIP regresses. My only concern going forward with hi is that Safeco will kill his HR totals, but that doesn't seem to be as much of a concern in your league setup. I also think that he should be able to contribute a very strong OBP, especially with a 13.6 BB% so far this season.
Thanks for the help with mine.

Hmm, normally I think I'd try Smoak, but you're counting hits not HR's. Interesting format, don't think I've heard of that one before. In that case, I'd go with Overbay. Best of luck to you in the 2nd half.
Please take a look at my post...

The only guy id even consider rostering out of them is smoak. Smoak has the most upside as well, and it seems like this is a keeper league. With so much season left, who knows, maybe smoak will be keeper worthy in an AL league. I could see this happening, but if not he still makes a viable 2nd half option.
HELP with mine???

Thanks for your help with mine! I was all set to recommend Chris Davis (3rd time lucky?) until I read your qualifier about OBP instead of AVG and hits instead of HR. After seeing that I think I'd go with Smoak.

I'd say Smoak has the highest upside, but I'd take Chris Davis. He was hitting for avg. in the minors so hopefully he can continue that now that he is staring in tex fulltime.

I am going along with consensus and taking Smoak. Good luck.
