Was offered Hughes, bumgardener, and Simon for my Heyward. I like this because it helps me add deph which I could use, but is this enough value. Choo is still on the DL, but i feel Fowler and quentin are sufficient replacements for them for now. Is this a good deal for me, and if not, what deal should i shoot for. He already declined nieman n hughes for heyward, but countered with lind n hughes for heyward or jurrjens and hughes for heyward. 100% WHIR LEAVE LINK Standard H2H 5x5 12 Man League C-Carlos Santana 1B-Albert Pujols 2B-Robinson Cano 3B-Ryan Zimmerman SS-Hanley Ramirez OF-Jason Heyward OF-Colby Rasmus OF-Carlos Quentin UTIL-Jose Bautista BN- Dexter Fowler DL-Sin soo choo
I don't like this deal. Bumgarner, with his mediocre fastball and secondary stuff, isn't likely to provide much value this year. For a while he seemed like an Ace in the making, but he's begun to reveal his true #3 upside in the past year and a half and I think people still remember the old days... Simon is just decent, he's not even a lock to keep the job for the rest of the year. Finally, Hughes, has been solid, but the Yankees might still be in the market for another starter, which might bump him to the 'pen. It's not likely at this point, but it's something to consider.
In all, I'd definitely pass as Heyward has tremendous upside. He could very well be a top 10 OF from here on out. Also, you didn't say, but if this is a keeper league, I'd also stay away... it doesn't make sense to deal away the best player in a deal, especially a potential cornerstone such as Heyward.
I agree with the above. I don't like this deal in a redraft league, I really don't like it in a keeper league. When looking at a 3-for-1, always look at the 3-for-3 of it, as to who you would release.
