Pagan post all-star break

Postby rib217 » Sun Jul 11, 2010 4:30 pm

Does Pagan really go from arguably the best OF the Mets have right now to a bench player when Beltran gets back?

Bay and Beltran pretty much have spots leaving Frenchy to rob Pagan of playtime? Any news on this situation or are we looking at Pagan jumping around fighting for a spot in the lineup?

Manuel has said that he will play RF. Beltran will be getting plenty of rest. I think he is going to play a game, rest, play two games rest, etc. If you ask me, Pagan will play 4 games out of 5 at least.

Here is your answer ....

'The Mets will shift Angel Pagan to right field and make Jeff Francoeur a part-time player once Carlos Beltran returns from the disabled list after the All-Star game.

Frenchy is sometimes popular for his attitude and energy, but his .253/.303/.391 line is too poor to play with Pagan in the fold (and isn't really a good option in any fantasy game either). This is good news for Pagan owners, as he's been an under-rated source of speed in the fantasy game and deserved to keep his share of the playing time. Jul. 11 - 7:43 pm et

the only concern would be if he goes cold he could lose alot of playing time very quickly. But for right now he looks like a good nearly everyday starter

Frenchy will most likely play against LHP because Frenchy hits LHP very well and plays a solid RF. Pagan will play against all RHP and also spell Beltran in CF and occasionally Bay in LF. He will play a lot.
