Baker for Soto - WHIR, 100%

The situation:
I'm in 4rd place in my 14 team h2h (limited) keeper league with a record of (81-61-14), but the first place team is running away with it (106-42-8). On top of that the 1st place team doesn't have any clear over-achieving players and has nice minor league talent to deal if a need arises. The 2nd place team (89-61-6) is very solid and rife with top talent. First and second place finishers take home money, 2nd getting league dues back. I feel like I have a shot at 2nd place if I can patch some pretty big holes on my roster. The Choo injury really hurts me, and my closer situation is abysmal. I'm lucky enough to have a few starters that qualify as RP, which makes up for the lack of saves a bit. I think my keepers heading into next year are pretty solid and if I'm to make a run, I'll probably have to deal one of them. But even then, is my team strong enough to make a run? My pitching has been solid and this offer certainly deals from my strength. The hope is that if Soto has more value than Baker, it would be easier for me to deal him or Napoli for the OF bat I need. I've tried all sorts of options, including moving Baker for an OF, but to no avail.

Should I deal Scott Baker for Geovanny Soto and Johnny Gomes? He also has Chris Coghlan, should I counter asking for him instead of Gomes?

Thanks in advance for the help, and as always, leave a link.

First you asked if McLouth is droppable...I would say yes and try to find someone else who is on the DL with more potential and place him on your DL instead of McLouth.

Soto seems to be turning it around a bit, but I don't know if he is really an upgrade over Napoli. I think your pitching is certainly great. How far behind 2nd are you? I don't know if Having Soto on your team will help you. Mind you, You are not really harmed by losing Baker...and Gomes could help out your outfield. I think the risk is very low for you, and it gives you two catchers (which is always nice for off days and streaks), and it gives you some depth in the outfield.

Thoughts on my Rollins and Gallardo for Tex trade?

thanks for your help with my answer...i added a few things btw, but I would do it. I am usually biased toward everyday players because they put in 4-5 games a week and a pitcher will throw maybe 1-2 games at most in a week unless they are a reliever so I would go for Soto. He has a little bit more value in my book.

I like Baker to improve, but getting Soto is the sound move here. Good luck.

Help me out? Return the favour?

i like baker side better, and i don't think Soto is too much of an improvement if any over Napoli. If you want 2 C to alternate, maybe. I'd also prefer Coghlan. He might not fill up the stat sheet, but he'll contribute more than Gomes.

there's not too much risk, but I don't see a whole lot of reward either. i'd say yeah roll the dice if you can get coghlan if not stay put

please help

I would take that deal (Soto and Gomes, not Coghlan).

Help with mine? http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=416539

Baker has a lot of upside is the ace on the first place twins (well maybe now 2nd place). I dont like trading for catchers. too many coming and going.....stay tight.
