I have a chance to trade Carlos Santana, who can be kept next year by forfeiting a 10th round draft pick, for either Broxton or Marmol.
My thinking is that for the rest of this year, Santana's value is a bit below that of Broxton/Marmol, but then Santana will give the other owner a 6th round value player in the 10th round. So I think the trade is about even.
I am middle of the pack in saves, but my closers are Rauch, Capps, and Simon - so I don't feel very secure.
Last thing: I have Miguel Montero as my other catcher, so I don't lose much there, if anything.
Does this help me enough this year to justify it?
