Any updates on his hand? I haven't seen the video of the injury yet and haven't seen anything on Yahoo regarding it. All I know is that he didn't play today.

That makes Utley Choo and probably Ian Stewart for me. I might have to drop Choo or Utley at this point.

Jul 6 OF Shin-Soo Choo, who is on the disabled list with a sprained right thumb, will be examined by Dr. Thomas Graham on Tuesday. A decision will then be made on whether surgery is necessary.

So is it 6-8 weeks with or without the surgery? In an OF specific league, LF is the most shallow position, IMO. This one hurts, regardless.

The Indians have said that he should come back much sooner than that 6-8 week time frame. He will wear a protective brace for 7-10 days and get evaluated after the break. From CBS "'It's good news, but we're still going to have to wait ... and see where that takes us,' manager Manny Acta said. 'But that will be a great boost for us if he doesn't need to have that surgery and we can have him back a lot shorter than we were anticipating. A lot quicker.'"

As a Shin-Bone owner myself, let's hope he doesn't get surgery and returns in August to his 25/25 pace that he was on before the injury.

Jul 11 Manager Manny Acta said Choo (thumb) could return by the end of the month, the Associated Press reports.

Recommendation: Choo was expected to miss about six-to-eight weeks with the injury, and this news makes it seem that he could return even earlier than that. Choo has been the Indians' best offensive player this season, so they could certainly use him back as early as possible.
