Elbow inflammation. They won't know anything for a couple of days. Here's a quote from CBS:
The Blue Jays placed starter Shaun Marcum on the 15-day disabled list on Friday. He has been diagnosed with right elbow inflammation. Marcum (7-4) lasted just four innings Thursday in his latest start. According to MLB.com, Marcum will have an MRI on Sunday or Monday to make sure there is no hidden damage in his elbow. The Blue Jays are optimistic he'll miss just one start and be back in the rotation soon. "We've been more proactive then we ever have before," general manager Alex Anthopoulos said. "If a guy's a little sore, especially coming off Tommy John -- a lot of guys want to fight through it and battle through it -- we're not going to take any chances. We're very, very confident that he's going to be fine. We fully expect him to be in that rotation right after the break."
Until he has an MRI, I wouldn't be so confident. But this could be a good thing if it truly is minor (just inflammation) as he will be nice and fresh for the 2nd half. Crossing my fingers..............
