Who do you have at 1B now? Panda? It would help if we knew your scoring system and who else you had in the OF and RP. Based on the info here, I say do the deal. Sandoval is a very good hitter, Ellsbury steals a ton of bases, and Cordero is a solid closer. At the same time, Pujols hits for a better average than Panda with 15-20 more HR's and 35-40 RBI. Ellsbury's been banged up and Cordero isn't automatic.
Who are the top 3 aces in baseball...and should I pursue them OVER Pujols?

take pujols and run. you are giving up a player on the DL, a closer and an underperforming hitter for a top 5 fantasy commodity.

Yes that is robbery, might not even get by your league voting.
What is available in FA and what is your roster. Since you will have 2 free spots after the deal. You should be able to get component parts outta FA in your shallow league to REALLY make the deal in your favor.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
