Should i drop chase utley considering he is going to be out 8 weeks and there's only 11 weeks left to the season and I'm 2 games back. and theres a tie at first place. I have a serious problem. This league is really shallow. The waiver wire is filled with talent. I feel like i can't miss out on edison volquez or another starter instead of having chase utley sit on my bench for 8 weeks out of 11 left. I lost kendry morales earlier this year and was able to drop him for james loney. Right now i was able to put chone figgins in for utley. But i'm completly puzzled Chase is a stud. but this league everyone has a ridicoulous team and bench players do nothing for you. I've never been in a league with so many options.
C - M. Montero 1B - J. Loney 2B - C. Figgins (just picked up to fill-in for utley) 3B - A. Beltre SS - J. Rollins OF- J. Hamilton OF - C. Lee OF - B. Zobrist U - I. Kinsler
Bench 2B C. Utley (Leaning towards dropping him for one of the pitchers below)

Personally, I think you have a pretty damn strong rotation. Adding any of those SPs exposes you to some ratio risk. I would, however, lean towards exchanging Cueto with Volquez. Even in a moderately shallow 10 team mixed league, I would hold onto Utley. There's a chance he beats an 8-week timeframe, and having him back in a H2H format during your fantasy playoffs is clutch.
No DL slot in your league? I agree withe thejusman. Utley is out 6-8 weeks, so he could return sometime in August. I'd try to keep him and also package 2 of your SP's for an an ace or trade one of your SP's for a hitter (move Kinsler for second and the new bat puts Figgins and his lackluster first half on the bench).
The heck with pitching, I say if you're going to drop Utley you should get a bat that might spell you in case one of your offensive players turns to dust in the second half. Utley could be a boost for you by the end of August/September, but if your offense hasn't held up until then, the point may be moot.
In my opinion, see if you can package an arm and Utley for a bat that might fill the hole Utley has just left you.
Scherzer, Max SP (ride the hot hand) he needs to be OWNED, seriously.
I would drop Figgins, move Kinsler to 2b and use a UTL bat whoever is hot and has 7 games with good matchups (look at your matchup tab and see the player history vs. pitchers) and go with your gut as well.
Post some FAs please.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
I wouldn't mind grabbing Span, CarGo, or Gardner there. All 3 are excellent options. Shift Kinsler to 2B and dump Figgins for one of these 3 immediately. I'd probably grab CarGo, but it really depends on your scoring set-up and who has been the most valuable SP thus far.
