I've heard comparisons to Chris Young and Mike Cameron. What's the word on the streets?

I made a bet in 2003 that the Devil Rays would win the 2008 World Series. Oh so close.

that's pretty much it. Injuries have prevented him from playing much. still plenty of development ahead of him.

Seems a bit early to call a 19 year old injury prone, even though he's had his share. Way too early to make MLB comps (I don't like the concept to begin with) and those are pretty bad ones. Tate has as much tools and athletic ability as anybody around. He's still young with a lot of rawness. At this point his range of outcomes is anywhere from complete bust to middle of the lineup all-star CF. Each of those has some reasonable probability. He's finally showing up in box scores and games like he had Thursday show what he can offer if everything pans out.

He's recovered from the broken jaw and playing everyday in the Arizona Summer League.
