Lackey's best years are behind him. I say drop him and pick up Volquez. He is two years removed from an ERA in the low 3's and 200+ K's. The reds are hot and have a good bullpen to help with his W's. He has had pretty good control in his rehab assignments and has hit 98 mph! Looks like the old TJ surgery helped (like Josh Johnson...)...

If you feel comfortable dropping Lackey, I'd go ahead and pull the trigger for Volquez. Lackey really hasn't shown me anything in Boston, and I think Volquez can help you the rest of the way out.

help?

Going with everyone else here and saying, yes, go grab Volquez. I do like Bedard as well, however, given his past he can't be relied upon to stay healthy for any length of time.
