i guess i had to go with vazquez... though i wouldn't if i had to, i mean, both of these guys are in the 1.30+ WHIP threshold which means they're getting hit. vazquez has had a nice string of 7IP 2-3 ER games lately, tho arizona kind of put him back into meh territory.
i see it like this, regardless you're going to have a 4.00+/1.30 type situation with a fair amount of Ks. i picked vazquez cuz of the yankees thing, therefore more wins, cuz if you're going to take the hit in ERA/WHIP for the sake of wins and Ks, well, you want the wins.
in terms of pure pitching i mean if i just wanted the best pitcher out of the two, i'd go with edwin jackson. he's still circa 27 years old, whereas vazquez is 34 or something, so even tho he faded down the stretch last year and ended up 3.62/1.26 i believe, there's more hope that jackson can "see the light" and come out of it a better pitcher. but it's maddening in that in the last month he's had two complete games, the 8-walk no hitter, and then a 3 hitter with 12Ks. sandwiched in between them were three meh starts... he managed to get a win in one of them, but amazingly not that nice game at the dodgers... maybe he was extra-motivated to stick it to the team that drafted him?
so on behalf of the yankees juggernaught, i choose vazquez. otherwise, well, i spose for pure pitcher i give the slight nod to jackson... either way i'd roll the dice on tommy hunter before either of these clowns =D
Neither. Jackson too inconsistant and Javy is showing he can't pitch in the AL. He doesn't have the pitcher every 9th hitter. Plus teams usually catch up to him the second or third time around. Thats what happened when he pitched in the AL before.

I wish neither were an option. I have E Jackson now and am looking to move him following his no-hitter. I'm sick of his ups and downs, and Vazquez might be available from his owner.
Can you think of anyone else that I might realistically get in return for a Jackson trade?
