trade veto: Is CBSsports a fraud?

Postby feltbot » Tue Jun 29, 2010 2:25 pm

I just had this trade vetoed in a CBSsports $100 individual league:

4th place team (me) sends Erik Bedard + Maicer Izturis
Last place team sends Juan Rivera.

I requested that CBS give me a rationale for the veto, which they refused to do. They said their "commissioners" don't discuss reasons, and all decisions are final.

I'm curious, do you think this trade is veto-able? And do you think CBS actually evaluated it on the merits, with an actual commissioner, or simply rubberstamped the rejection by 4 other owners?

I call shenanigans. My league unfortunately uses CBS, and it is terrible. We debated switching to a different site but decided against it. If you persist in questioning them, they may let the trade go through, or at the very least provide you with rationale.

so the league veto'd it and CBS wouldn't reverse it? I think you need to ask your league mates

This has been brought up a ton of times on the basketball side in years past. I think the guy who was veto-ing things all the time was named Ron.

There is an easy way to avoid this. Have your league pay for the CBS Commissioner and run your own league. No need to worry about someone else vetoing trades then.
