Hey guys, I'm in first place in my Yahoo league (12 team, H2H, R HR RBI AVG SB // W SV K ERA WHIP) and trying to make some moves to help me stay on top and eventually win this season. I was offered 2 trades and wanted to get some input. Here is what my team looks like and I will post the trades after that:
C J Mauer
1B M Cuddyer
2B D Uggla
SS J Peralta
3B E Longoria
MI H Kendrick
CI A LaRoche
LF M Ramirez
CF V Wells
RF J Upton
OF C Hart
UTL S Podsednik
Bench J Bay
SP J Verlander
SP Y Gallardo
SP R Oswalt
SP J Peavy
SP D Price
RP D Bard
RP C Villanueva
RP H Street
RP M Adams
RP M Wuertz
Bench A Sanchez
Bench B Norris
Bench CJ Wilson
Bench C Silva
Bench J Zumaya
DL H Bailey
DL R Harden
I've been trying to find another solid SP since guys like Norris/Harden/Bailey have been duds and was offered these two deals:
1) Arod and Johan for Longoria and Manny (I kinda of like this but I think I need the other team to add someone else since I'm giving up Longoria and since Manny is no slouch)
2) McGehee and Cliff Lee for Longoria
Let me know what you guys think! And please leave a link so I can help!
Thanks in advance,
TI

I personally really like the 1st trade offer, the only way I would think about holding back on that one is if this is a keeper league. If it's a keeper league I would try to get 1 more guy since Evan is a younger superstar. If its not a keeper league pull the trigger, especially with Arod heatting up.

It is a keeper league and we are discussing draft picks...I am getting his 6th round and will be giving my 10th round...I think I'm gonna go for it, but if anyone else wants to chime in, feel free!!

No way I'd trade Longoria for Arod in a keeper league. I also don't have much faith in Johan's diminishing fastball and K/9.

Longoria is clearly the best player in that deal, and is even more superior in terms of keeper value. Johan is a #3 starter in decline and A-Rod is a second tier 3b behind the first tier of Wright, Longoria, and Youkilis.

Longoria is a boss and will only get better with age. Being a keeper league, I say no way. If you are in 1st, just chill. Try to make a move if you want to, but don't do anything drastic like giving away the best 3rd baseman for the next 10 years (including this one!)!
