Trade Beltre for Dunn? WHIR!

Postby Oatsdad » Fri Jun 25, 2010 3:03 pm

In my H2H league, I'm low on HRs and RBI. I've been offered Dunn for Beltre. Both are having comparable years - in fact, Beltre's doing a bit better - but Dunn has been MUCH more consistent/reliable over the years.

Thoughts?

i stick with what you have. Beltre may not be more consistent, but he is capable. Plus he's in a better lineup, that will be competing throughout the season. I may be in the minority on this

Almost at the all star break and Beltre hasn't faltered yet... I'm not saying that this would be a bad deal for you because Beltre is much more likely to fall off than Dunn is, it just seems to me a bit of a risk in trading one of youre most consistent players. That being said I think it is a slight upgrade and could really help you if Beltre falls off. Tough call but i say stick with what youve got.

I give a tiny edge to Dunn if you have third base sufficiently covered. Even still you might get more from someone else for Beltre with how shallow 3B is right now. There are alot of us roto players stuck starting weak options at 3B every night.

In terms of position, I have both Teixiera and David Wright, so I'm already covered at both 1B and 3B. I also picked up Smoak, so I already have another good backup at 1B - I guess that's one reason to stick with Beltre.

This league uses three Util positions, so I can still make use of three 1Bs, but I do like variety.

That said, I gotta admit I have more faith in Dunn than in Beltre. Tough decision! :-o
