trading a SS, but which one? whir

Postby baseballstud » Thu Jun 24, 2010 4:03 pm

Since I have 2 of the better SS's in fantasy, alot of teams have shown interest in both. Here's the 2 offers I have on the table

My Jroll for his Garza and FCordero. Gives me a solid 3rd closer which i've been looking for.

My Andrus for his Tim Hudson.

Which deal do you think be more beneficial to my roster at this time? Leave a link.

12 man 5x5 H2H.

C-M.Napoli
1B-Konerko
2b-McGehee
3b-D.Wright
SS-Rollins/
OF-Kemp,J.Upton,Cruz

SP-Lester,Nolasco,Oswalt,Cain,Liriano (deal will add me another starter and closer if I do the first.)

Neither are worth it. Jimmy is worth way more than Garza and Cordero as much as a like them both. and Andrus is the lead-off hitter and playing pretty good, you could do way better than Hudson. Also I would go for a hitter, your pitchers are solid and if you need more its always easier to find a good pitchers.

Just don't do either of these deals...

I wouldn't do either deal. Rollins when healthy can be a second half hitter and I wouldn't settle for just Hudson when dealing Andrus straight up.

I agree, but the key is "when healthy". JRoll has had extended DL stints the past two seasons and he's not getting any younger. I would do the JRoll deal.

what did you end up trading for wright?

on these two deals, I definitely wouldn't do garza and cordero for rollins. I'd want more for a top 5 SS and top 50 overall player. Hudson for Andrus is fair value in my opinion, but I'd counter with Garza for Andrus before going that route.

I don't care for either of the deals, but if you don't think Rolins can stay healthy for the rest of the year, then I would go ahead and do that trade. Either that or try to get a slightly better starting pitcher than Garza in return.

the 2 deals are from 2 different owners, so i can't counter garza for jroll. i can try to get the garza owner to do danks for andrus, although i'm slightly higher on garza than danks. i've been trying to shop one of these 2 for a starter but this year more than ever every team in my league seems to high on pitchers that i can't swing a deal for the life of me.

i'd target a 2nd tier ace like gallardo, hamels, kershaw, or wainwright for rollins. as far as garza goes, he wants a shortstop in return, i'd see if he would take andrus for him instead of rollins. if you can't get garza for andrus i'd take the hudson deal. tim is a very good 3 category pitcher.
