Wright/Werth for Halladay/Zimmerman WHIR

Postby fameb » Tue Jun 22, 2010 7:48 pm

A guy in my league offered me Roy Halladay and Ryan Zimmerman for David Wright and Jayson Werth. I don't want lose Wright's speed but Zimm is a good filler at 3rd base. I feel my outfield will be weak though, I can drop Myers for Delmon Young or Johnny Gomes to take Werth's spot...What do you guys think?

Losing Werth will hurt your OF your right, but you get one of the top SP in the game and a pretty good 3B in Zimmerman. I think I would consider this one and try to move other pieces for OF help.

This is an interesting offer. But after looking your team over I think I would hold off. Sure Halladay is a top 3 SP but you have a nice collection of arms in Haren, Hanson, Danks, Latos and you will get Beckett back to add to them. Lilly and Lewis are nice back end starters who produce SP3/4 type numbers. I think Werth will get hot before too long and I like Wright at 3B quite a bit over Zimmerman. Its not a bad offer and you could certainly take it and drop Myers for Delmon but I wouldn't make a trade just for the sake of making a trade and its not like your staff is dying for an ace. Why weaken your OF just to make what is already a strong staff stronger? I would hold off and keep Wright and Werth for now.

thanks for the help in mine.... i'd take it.

it boosts your SP a great deal while only a small hit at 3b. obviously losing werth hurts but you can stick bautista there and then any FA or bench player for the util spot

I'd make the deal. Grab Young to slot into the OF spot. You do take a hit by losing Wright, but it is not huge, and is countered by landing the best SP in baseball.

young for me as he's in a better lineup and has always been thought to have superstar potential.

I would take Boesch over Delmon. Boesch will have RBI opps forever hitting 5th behind Mags and Migs. Delmon is super talented but Boesch still has better power potential. Delmon plays in a crowded MIN outfield and hits in the bottom 3rd of the lineup.

I would also make the deal and probably lean towards Boesch. I have been scorned by DYoung and do not think he is all that reliable.
