Need help with possible trade - WHIR always do

Postby soty » Tue Jun 22, 2010 2:42 pm

Hey I have a question about a trade I am thinking of offering. I am trying to move Martin and I think there is a slight chance I could move him to the guy in my league who has Yadier Molina as his only catcher. Problem is there is not really anything on his team worth trading for straight up as far as equal value goes. I have tried offering him Martin straight up for Guerrier for holds, but he quickly turned that down. Now I am thinking if I am going to get anything done and equal value I will have to do some type of 2 for 1 deal. There are 2 guys I am looking at on his roster as far as that goes Pedroia and Sadoval.

For Pedroia I was thinking of offering Kinsler/Martin for Pedroia. I am not sure thats such a good idea though? Pedroia has a healthier track record, is a year younger and usually ends up with a better AVG. Kinsler is a power guy he will supply with the HRs and RBIs. TBs are kind of a wash and SBs goes to Kinsler, but Pedroia is no slouch at that himself. What are your thoughts on that one?

For Sandoval I was thinking of offering Pena/Martin for Sandoval. Again like the above offer not too sure about giving up all that power? Sandoval is a much better hitter than he has shown so far and he can produce some decent power numbers himself. I am just not sure about giving him all those HR and RBI in Pena? It would be nice to get rid of his Mendoza Line AVG though.

Here is my current team so you can see how things are looking currently. Let me know what you think about these possible deals? Leave a link and I will help you...always do. ;-D

Kinsler is having a crappy year so far.....but he will trun it around. No need for Pedoria over Kinsler.
Kung Fu Panda hasnt done squat so its a risk but i like this buy low....Pena i just dont like. i would make that move.

I would do the Pena/Martin for Sandoval swap. There both mediocre to avg players and Martin you don't need at all with Santana. So it's really just Pena for Sandoval in your lineup which would be heavily in your favour as Pena is very streaky but isn't that good when he's off. I do like Pedroia more than Kinsler but the talent difference isn't as wide of a gap as Pena and Sandoval.

I like the sandoval swap the most because he is a much better hitter than pena while kinsler and pedroia are much closer.

Thanks guys. I am pretty sure he would go for the Kinsler deal first so I made that offer first. Kinsler is probably a better keeper option long term, but Pedroia will help me win this year which I am trying to do. If he doesn't go for that I will try the Pena deal. Thanks for the help.
