Wright for Kershaw & Werth (WHIR)

Postby BUCCOFAN » Mon Jun 21, 2010 10:33 am

I am in a deep 15 team league, (Auction/Fantasy Points) players have 3 year contracts then become free agents at seasons end. We start two at each position, and 6 OF weekly. (along with 8 pitchers) I could use the extra arm, in Kershaw however will I notice a lose in D.Wright at 3B? Sure Alvarez just got called up, but he hasn't lit the world on fire. I am currently in 1st place with a 250FP lead.

I GET:
OF - J.Werth $6 (3) (free agent at seasons end, basically a rental for me)
SP - C.Kershaw $5 (3) (free agent at seasons end, basically a rental for me)

I TRADE:
3B - D.Wright $40 (1) (has 2 more years left in keeper rights at that value, I wasn't keeping him anyways, high salary)

MY CURRENT STARTING ROSTER:
C - V.Martinez $30(2) C - C.Santana $15(1)
1B - A.Pujols $44(3) 1B - G.Jones $5(2)
2B - M.Prado $3(2) 2B - F.Sanchez $5(1)
3B - D.Wright $40(1) 3B - T.Glaus $1(1)
SS - S.Castro $8(1) SS - O.Cabrera $5(1)
OF - A.McCutchen $20 (2) OF - J.Bay $15(3) OF - C.Hart $3(1) OF - A.Lind $2(3) OF - Delmon Young $1(1) OF - J.Borbon $3(2)
SP - A.Wainwright $18(2) SP - C.Carpenter $34(1) SP - J.Johnson $1(3) SP - C.Lee $3(3) SP - T.Hudson $3(2) SP - J.Hammel $6(1) SP - J.Chacin $4(1) SP - C.Volstad $2(1)

BENCH: (max 6 guys on bench)
C - G.Soto $13(1)
2B/SS/3B - O.Infante $3(1)
3B - P.Alvarez $5 (2)
OF - J.Tabata $11(1)
SP - K.Correia $1(1)
RP - B.Lincoln $4(1)

IR:
1B - K.Morales $11(2) - done for the season - Big Loss
OF - C.Crisp $1(1) - should be back next week or two
OF - N.McLouth $1(3) - been brutal, now concussed
RP - R.Madson $5(1) - out another month
SP - E.Volquez $1(1) - great second half return??? never know.....

MINORS: (3 spots allowed, Santana/Castro/Alvarez all called up already)

Thanks for the help. I'd stand pat on this one--your pitching is sick, and the Wright to Alvarez drop is huge compared to what you're getting....

Don't do it....keep what you have in Wright. Much more valuable in the long run, and your Kershaw doesn't improve your already great rotation.
