Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez was hit in the face during Wednesday's game against the Boston Red Sox.
Rodriguez was hurt when he was setting up to take a throw from leftfielder Hideki Matsui on a double by Kevin Millar. The ball hit Brian Daubach's leg while he was sliding into third and ricocheted into Rodriguez's face.
Yankees trainer Gene Monahan then tended to Rodriguez and the All-Star infielder immediately left the game.
