Predictions for Mark REynolds ?

I just completed a trade for Mark Reynolds (I also got Francisco Cordero in the deal, and traded Michael Young for him).


I did this based on the past numbers Reynolds has put up, and that I'm more interested in HR/OPS/SB than the hit in AVG I'll be taking. The deal also allowed me to drop the recently aquired Aaron Heilman to make room for a real closer in Cordero (I'm a Mets fan, Heilman leaves a very sour taste in my mouth).

Anyway, will Reynolds turn it around? Can he be the player who hit 40+ homers last season and stole around 20 (IIRC)? Or is he destined to suck this season?

I don't know what you mean by 'turn it around'. He's having a very solid season right now as far as runs/hr/rbi's are concerned. The avg. you know has always been a liability and has the potential to dip close to .200 but has the upside to get over. 280. The reason he's not stealing is because he's been battling a quad injury all yr which no one really has talked about much but he continues to hit for power. I fully expect a line of 90-40-100 again, and if the quad gets better he should get at least 10 sb, the avg is where his value lies. if he hits .210, everyone will hate on him. but if he finishes with a .275 avg, he will be extremely hyped going into the season next yr, IMO.

He's getting tonight off, which is good.I wish they'd just DL him and let him heal.He's looked really awful the last few games and it's not like they're fighting for a playoff spot.
