Kemp trade...

Postby maestro1313 » Fri Jun 18, 2010 12:15 am

Thoughts on this... mixed 5x5...
All contracts... 2 years...

Give:
Kemp/Burnett...

Get:
Lester/BJ Upton...

Current OF is:
Bruce/Carlos Gonzo/Bourne/Bautista/Quentin...

Current SP:
A. Sanchez/J. Sanchez/ Jimenez/Carpenter/Cain/Rights to Scherzer...
Little short in steals... thoughts?

I would probably not make this trade.

I like J.Lester over A.J. Burnett. M.Kemp has not produced at the level everyone expected thus far. Kemp is still a better option than B.J. Upton. Upton will give you more speed...that's it. Kemp has better numbers in every other category other than Walks...and that is close.

You have great pitching...you don't NEED Lester. You need Kemp. Keep him. If anything...you should trade 1 of your starters for another bat.

ON the other side of this...

I feel I'm getting value here... (down turn from Kemp to Upton... but major up from Lester to Burnett...)

Shouldn't I take that gain... then move a SP (say Ubaldo or Cain...) for another STUD OF...

Any other thoughts...

Thanks Clemente for the thoughts... Love the Sig...
he was a STUD player... and a good man to boot!!!

Your OF is pretty weak without Kemp, and if you would be thinking about trading another SP for an OF to replace him, why make the trade in the first place? Kemp is a stud himself. You don't need Lester that bad.

I'd keep Kemp. Your SP is solid enough that getting Lester is not necessary.

Could you help with this Wright for Reyes deal?
