Off the field - the wave. Can't stand the wave.
Hack-a-Shaq is kinda like an intentional walk.
Funny. I was just going to type that.
Also double teams, stacking the line in football, etc.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

Ok, "Hack-a-Shaq" is comparable. Double teams and stacking the line are not. Sure, you're putting up extra defenders, but you're not taking the ball out of the player's hands. He still has a chance; it's just tougher for him.

Miguel Cabrera had a chance. You're really just talking about a matter of degree. Besides, the whole premise is that you make it tougher for one individual on the team and it creates opportunities for another member of the team. When Jordan was in his prime, other teams could've tripled teamed him and effectively shut him down if they thought that Steve Kerr couldn't shoot.
Baseball is a great game; I'm not sure why you guys feel compelled to make me defend other sports by making, "X can only happen in baseball" claims.

1. Players holding up their glove to show that they have the ball. - Yeah, I don't see it rolling to the fence behind you or you chasing after it so I kinda figured it was in your glove.
2. Umpires that wait to see someone hold their glove up indicating that the ball is in fact in their glove and not hiding under their hat before making the call.
3. Umpires that wait to see someone hold their glove up indicating that the ball is in their glove and then calling the person safe.

How about taking a knee with two minutes left in football?

Or fouling the center/PF incessantly in the last 30 seconds when you're down by three?

That's not the same because the C/PF is still given the opportunity to close out the game. It's the C/PF's fault for being so terrible at shooting free throws. If they could shoot free throws, fouling isn't really that great of a strategy. With the intentional walk, there's nothing the player can do.
