About to offer this...*WHIR*

Have been going back and forth with this guy about Pablo Sandoval for Rios. I need a 1B badly since Morales bit me hard.

This is what I am thinking of proposing:

Mauer, Rios, Marcum, Leake for Halladay, Span, Pablo

The reason for this is because he is so weak at catcher and this is what is available for C on waivers:

C. Santana, Doumit, Rus Martin, Montero, K. Suzuki

Thoughts?

i don't think i'd be wheeling and dealing for Pablo right now. he has struggled mightily and now there are rumors floating around that the Giants are unhappy with his weight problems and he could lose playing time as other guys come into the mix. i'd look elsewhere for 1B help. hope that helps!

i dont think i would do that either... not real big on pablo. Maybe try and move mauer straight up for say fielder since both are kinda struggling, then pick up santana and suzuki im sure one will pan out

Yeah, I would stay pat. I think you are giving up a lot. Rios is killing and I think has a good chance at keeping his hot streak going for the rest of the year. Mauer and Pando are both underperforming but Mauer had a much better year last year and is having a better year this year. Span is ok, nothing special. The trade for your would revolve around getting Holliday but you would be giving up both Leake and Marcum who have been having great years. So yeah I wouldn't recommend it.

I would probably drop someone on your bench like Lind or Smoak or Pagan for either Montero or Santana though.

I think it can be hard to find good deals when dealing multiple players. I like the idea of dealing Mauer straight up for Fielder. Fielder has typically been a slow starter and both guys are of pretty equal value. Only problem is that another owner may not want to deplete himself at 1B if no other options out there. I'd even through Lee into the deal and then pick up one of the catchers. Lots of decent guys to choose from.
