Carlos Lee for Jose Reyes?? WHIR

Postby dcmayer1979 » Mon Jun 14, 2010 1:37 pm

WHIR...Leave link

Straight up. Do it? I have Ellsbury on the DL, who will take over at LF for Carlos Lee eventually. There are some decent bats on the Waiver wire that will fill in at LF until then if I made this deal. Reyes would be slotted in the Util spot over Rajai Davis, who I would probably drop for a LF. See roster below.

100% WHIR if you leave a link...Thanks in advance.

C Carlos Santana
1B Mark Reynolds
2B Dustin Pedroia
3B Michael Young
SS Derek Jeter
LF Carlos Lee
CF Colby Rasmus
RF Justin Upton
Util Rajai Davis
BN
Michael Cuddyer
DL
Jacoby Ellsbury (LF, CF)
DL Carlos Beltrán
(NYM - CF)

Thanks for your help with mine.

I'd take it. Lee is starting to come around, but Reyes is tearing it apart right now, and would have higher value in a trade down the line since he plays a position where the talent is thinner.

You'll be leaving yourself a little short on pop, but long term I don't think Lee will duplicate his numbers from years past.

I for sure would take the Reyes side. He has been looking really good for a few weeks and is inching closer every day to where he was 2 years ago. Reyes has never had an injury problem outside of last year, so there is no real reason to think he is injury prone. As a matter of fact he has always been top 5 in the league in games played and at-bats, so he's actually proven to be very durable in his career.

Reyes still has first round upside. go with him.

Thanks for the imput on mine ;-D

thanks for mine.

Absolutely take it and don't look back....you also have Beltran, who should be back after all-star break barring any setbacks.

I would stay with Reyes especially if it's a keeper league.

Thanks for the help with mine.

I love this move for you. Pull the trigger. The next question you have though is who are you going to trade, Jeter or Reyes. SS is so thin, that I think you will be able to get a much better player back to put in your UTIL spot if you move Reyes or Jeter

Yeah...that is a great point. I really could make the move to make another move. Thanks.
