BALTIMORE -- Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez left Thursday's game in the second inning. No reason was given.
Several times during batting practice before the Yankees' game against the Orioles on Thursday night, Rodriguez appeared to be shaking his right leg as if he were trying to get it loose. Later, he walked gingerly into the clubhouse, with a slight limp.
Nevertheless, Rodriguez played the field in the bottom of the first inning. But he didn't take his turn at-bat in the top of the second. Yankees manager Joe Girardi lifted Rodriguez for pinch-hitter Ramiro Pena.
Rodriguez left before the ninth inning of Sunday's game against the Blue Jays with stiffness in his right groin.
