Return to Draft, Trade, Keeper and Waivers Questions

I would be trading away Rios & Yunel Escobar and receiving Utley & Tejada.
Standard Yahoo H2H league.
I need an upgrade at 2B because I have Aaron Hill and he's killing me. Rios is having a monster year this year, but could somewhat afford to lose him. I can start start Corey Hart, Chris Young, and Coghlan/Boesch in my outfield.
Tejada and Escobar are somewhat of throw-ins in this deal.
Please help.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

as long as you believe in Utley. To me you are giving up alot. Escobar is reallly playing well now and Rios looks to be in top form and the player everyone has been waiting for. If that trade were offered Id be unsure. There have to be some decent options on the WW. How about Carlos Guillen? I would think there have to be some serviceable second baggers on the WW. Id keep Rios and Escobar honestly.

I would do it, classic buy low sell high. Maybe Rios keeps it up, but I doubt it he will fall down to earth. Maybe Utley doesn't turn things around..again I doubt this as well. I would do the deal

i think utley will turn it around. if you've got somebody to replace rios' production (boesch should do just fine), this deal is pretty solid.
thanks for the advice on mine.

Thanks for the help with mine. As someone has mentioned, this is a buy low sell high kinda deal. Utley will turn it around. You are getting the best player in the deal (a first rounder), hence it appears you are getting the better end. If you're not happy with Utley post trade, you can always flip him for someone else. Very little risk here on your part

I recently gave up Rios to get A-rod. It hasn't paid off yet, Rios is the #1 OF right now and may keep it up. That said, if you believe he will come back to earth (Im not sure I do), definitely sell high.

I'd do it. Utley is a huge upgrade. Tough to give up Rios, but you can't pass on a top 5 player.
Thanks for the help.

I would do this trade, your outfield is still decent, and like everyone's said, you have a top-5 player at 2B.
