With Nevin and Hoffman out where do the Fathers stand in there ability to compete in the NLW. Does this doom them to another year in the celler? :-/

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.

Yes. Everyone has upgraded while the Padres are downgraded thanks to the injuries. I think we'll be surprising a lot of people in '04 and '05 though. We have a ton of good young players (Burroughs, entire rotation) as well as a ton of prospects (Nady, Bozied, Greene, Phillips, Bynum, Gautreau, etc). Not to mention we'll be moving into a new stadium and most likely make one or two decent free agent acquisitions to give these guys more time to mature. The future is bright :)
