I traded away Hanley Ramirez in an effort to shakeup my struggling team. With Mike Aviles as my only replacement for Hanley and with the waiver wire being bone dry, I attempted to make a trade for a replacement SS. I emailed an owner about Elvis Andrus as he already had a decent starting SS. The offer that was presented to me was laughable as far as I'm concerned:
My Andrian Gonzalez/Freddy Sanchez for His Orlando Hudson/Elvis Andrus
I rejected and countered with:
My Adrian Gonzalez/Freddy Sanchez for His Adam Dunn/Elvis Andrus
He rejected and countered with:
My Adrian Gonzalez/Freddy Sanchez for His Andy LaRoche/Elvis Andrus
I rejected and told him that I'm not just going to hand him Adrian Gonzlez for nothing. He then emailed me back and listed the current 2010 stats for both Gonzalez and Andrus and tells me that because Andrus has scored more runs and has stolen more bases that I'm at a loss for not taking any of the trades and that my "hypothesis (Adrian is worth more) does not hold water."
