Which Prospects To Move? WHIR

Postby Philly_05 » Mon Jun 07, 2010 10:28 pm

I have been pondering/working the lines on moving some kids for major league talent at SP. So far the best SP I can get is Buchholz. The other owner was strong on Martin Perez and wanted Shane Victorino in the deal. I could possible get Matusz added into the deal on his end. We went a little further by adding Brandon Webb from my team but we hit a snag on any other players from him team. Should I make another run at getting Buchholz and Matusz or what other types of SP's should I shoot for with my prospects? This is a keeper league 40 points are available for us to use. The league is 12 team Fantasy Point.

Im not too high on matusz. His Ks are there but his era is high as well. Im very high on bucholz though and i think given ur teams situation u could desperately use him. I doubt you can land a top ace with prospects, but try targeting struggling aces as CC, greinke, and haren that owners might be sick of. If not, id roll with bucholz ;-D

Yeah it's a process with Matusz at this point. He started out the year well in his first 6 games with 4 quality starts. Eight of his twelve starts this year have been 3 runs or less. His starts on May 20th and 26th are the main reason for his ERA over 5 giving up 13 runs in two games. But he has bounced back nicely his last two starts against the Yankees and Red Sox. I figured he might be a good buy low from a owner who gave up on him way to early.

I have talked to the guy with CC and he might be available come August if he has decided he can't contend. Greinke is probably not a option because he's owned by a chronic non trader. I sent him a offer maybe a 2 weeks ago for him and never got a counter or reason for rejection. Haren I don't know about I had him before and he's a headache.
