Posada, Posey, & Santana: Catcher Carousel

Postby santoron » Fri Jun 04, 2010 3:09 am

I tired of my draft day Catcher, Soto, and dropped him for Posey, which has yielded some solid short term results. Santana is still sitting available in FA and my thinking was to decide after Posey's audition on whether to stand with Posey or swap him with Santana (if still available) as his call up becomes more firm.

But this evening, Posada just hit the WW. So the question is simple: If you were to go with one - and only one - of these catchers the rest of the way, whom would you take? My C position currently has no backup on the bench and I don't intend to keep two catchers at any point going forward.

Thanks in advance and, as always, WHIR! :-B

I think it is a crap shoot on that, but I would go with one of the young guys. Based simply on the fact that Posey has showed he can hit MLB pitching I would stick with him. I had heard last week though Santana would be better this season, but that was prior to the Posey call up when Santana was expected to be up sooned.

Well I missed the train on Posey and currently have Susuki, who has been a powerhouse over the past week. I did pick up Santana though as I continue to hear great things...Averaging 22HRs with 107 RBIs over 2 minor league seasons. I am not sure though out of Posey and Carlos who I would go with. I think either way, you get a great prospect.

Go Posey slightly over Santana
