Give A-Go for Crawford? WHIR

Postby LARS929 » Fri Jun 04, 2010 3:00 am

I give Adrian Gonzalez and Fransisco Liriano
I receive Carl Crawford and James Loney

My thinking on the trade is this:

I have plenty of power on my team and dominate those cats every week. I have little speed on my team especially with Ellsbury hurt. So getting Crawford for A-go is a huge upgrade for my team. Plus Crawford as a keeper is much more valuable than Gonzalez. Liriano is a good pitcher, but I am wanting to sell high as it seems he may tail off some. On top of that I have 3 aces who are much better than Liriano anyways so my pitching will still be very very good. Loney is better than anyone I would find off of waivers, and will be a decent avg, rbi, run producer for my team.

Should I do it?

10 team league, h2h with normal 5x5 stats plus OBP, doubles, QS, k/9. Also is a keeper league where we keep 8 players.

My team:
C. V-mart
1b: Pujols
2b: Cano
SS: Tulowitski
MI: Alexei Ramirez
CI: A-Gonzalez
OF: Carlos Lee
OF: C. Young
OF: Pence
OF: R. Davis
Util: D. Ortiz
Bench:
DL: Ellsbury
DL: Brian Roberts
SP: Lincecum, Hanson, Gallardo, Liriano, Dempster, Slowey, J. Garcia, Scherzer, Medlen
RP: Bell, Nunez, Axford, Contreras

its close but i would prob do this to get crawford who will be a great keeper for you. i think liriano might slow down the rest of the season. loney isnt much but crawford is a beast

It could be my love for Crawford, but I don't think I could resist this deal. AGon is a great player (He's my 1B) and should rebound with nice production for the back half of the season, but CC is the 5 tool player that makes this deal irresistable to me. Liriano is tough to lose but the gain you get (IMHO) across your offensive stats should be worthwhile, especially with the quality SP that is likely available in a 10 team league off the heap.

Best of Luck!

Rajai would be the guy I'd bench, he's due to fall back any day , and he just went 0-5 so that day could be coming soon...

Id do that deal, Crawford is a stud and Loney is a solid replacment

Deal makes a lot of sense for you, and I would say bench Rajai Davis until he proves consistent at the plate.

I think you are giving a bit much to get Crawford...Loney is not a good addition...You could get more in return IMO

I'm not a Loney fan, so I would pass on the deal. You have your speedy keeper in Ellsbury already and I think you'd miss A-Gon's power and OBP.

I think you're giving up too much for Crawford.
