My Ellsbury for Zack Greinke? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Fri Jun 04, 2010 1:33 am

I traded Greinke a few weeks ago for Ellsbury, only to see him go back on the DL. Now I am worried Brett Anderson will be a non-factor for me with his injuries. The other owner would be willing to do the trade again... Should I trade BACK for Greinke? Am I better off having a deep rotation with Greinke than waiting around for Ellsbury to maybe feel better?

Give: Ellsbury
Get: Greinke

I think you need to look at the standings and see what stat points you need more of...Speed/avg./runs or Ks/ERA/WHIP (Grienke will NOT give you wins, that's for damn sure). Just by the looks of it, you seem to need hitting more than pitching, IMO. But I see you have a ton of speed in your OF, so it's a tough call.

Help?

I think I would stick with Ellsbury. It seems to me you have a solid team and should be near the top of the league. You can handle Ellsbury sitting on the DL for a while and his production when he does get healthy will be worth the wait.

Bump

Anyone concerned that my pitching depth will take a hit if Anderson is out for an extended period of time? SHould I be concerned about Ellsbury being a recurring problem this year?

Your in a 12 team H2H keeper League with Roy Halladay, CC Sabathia,Ubaldo Jimenez, Matt Garza, Matt Cain as your starting 5. And you have names like Pujols, Utley, and McCutcheon to name just a few in your hitting dept. And your worried about carrying Ellsbury on your dl. many of us wish we had your problems. Your team is set for the year why mess with it. Don't worry about when Ellsbury comes back. Even if he dosen't play another game this year he would be a keeper for next.

Agree with the above poster. Your team looks extremely stacked for a 12 team league.

My question is how in the world did you get 3 1st round picks and 3 2nd round picks on the same team? Don't worry about getting Greinke back, your pitching staff will be fine.

The consensus above is spot on. If your league has an innings limit then you have enough quality starters to fill them. Stick with Jacoby.

i wish my teams woes were the same as yours.
