John Wooden dies

Postby AquaMan2342 » Thu Jun 03, 2010 8:33 pm

A true legend. Here's a nice presentation of his life put together by the Washington Post. Worth your time if you are a sports fan period and especially if you are a basketball/college basketball fan. RIP.

You know it has to happen sometime, but it's sad nonetheless. The man was a pillar in the world of basketball, and by all accounts a wonderful person.

Washington Post rescinded their article on him dying....apparently he is still alive but in grave condition.

Actually I just came to edit the original post.....the Post retracted their story apparently he's gravely ill but hasn't passed yet. Way to drop the ball WP. :-t

Think I'll bump this now that John Wooden has past. Although this day was going to come sooner than later, I feel quite sad that it has come. His legacy is obviously more than just basketball and that's how he'll be remembered. RIP.
