Time to pick up Fernando Rodney

Postby baegames » Thu Jun 03, 2010 7:26 pm

May have an extra spot on my team depending on whether Brett Anderson returns to the DL or not. Time to give a shot to Rodney again?
I may even have a spot if Anderson comes back. Do people think he will be the closer in the next week or so?

I don't think that soon, if at all. Scioscia stuck with Fuentes a lot longer than he should have last year and may do it again this year.

Thanks for help on mine.

I assume this isn't a holds league.

He may get another shot, but he's not that great. If you're speculating for saves, give him a try.

Have to agree with the above posters in that Sosc will keep Feuntes in there regardless of his performance... Would having Rodney on your bench be worth while? How many pitchers do you play? RP cats? Who else is available in your league?

Thanks for helping with mine. I agree with the others that you don't need Rodney. If you have excess bench spots, I guess it might be worth stashing him, but I bet there are better options that might be able to help now.

Unfortunately everyone else is right, Rodney will get little opportunities for saves as Fuentes has a very long leash. It is annoying though as I had Rodney for a while and he was money!
