Pena or Markakis for Andrus?

H2H Yahoo, 5x5, non-keeper league. I'm 1st atm.

Here's my roster:

C Mauer
1B Fielder
2B Polanco
3B M. Young
SS Felipe Lopez
OF C. Hart
OF Willingham
OF Lind
Util V. Martinez
Util Markakis
Bn Hawpe
Bn C. Pena

So i thought it might be a good idea to trade one of my top catchers for a better option at SS.

I like Martinez, so i was thinking:

Mauer for Kemp

and

Markakis/Pena for Andrus

Does that seem fair?

Mauer and Kemp are pretty equal so more depending on need, it comes down to the 2nd part of the trade and i feel Markakis has more value and upside than Pena so if its him being traded its a pretty good deal for you as Drew is an upgrade over what you have

That's a fair deal, and I would rather have Kemp than Mauer, so I would make the deal.

thx guys, well i realized i need more speed on my team, so i tried Pena for Andrus, we'll see...

Will try Mauer for Kemp too...

Markakis more value/upside than Pena? Do people think Pena will not hit over 35 hrs this year and get his RBIs? I'm leaning towards Markakis being a bust this year due to Orioles line up and lack of power, I kind of think Pena comes back around. let me know what you think

You do have a point, Pena's playing in a better team which means more RBI opportunities, more ABs, etc.

And Markakis hasn't done much till now other than hit for avg....

Anybody else want to chip in? I proposed the trade but might cancel it...

Looking at stats from last year, similar production is terms of runs, rbis, but markakis has better avg, Pena more homers.

I'd still take Markakis over Pena. Pena is hitting like, .178, and while he is getting his rbis, that low average is AWFUL, especially if your league counts strikeouts. Markakis has been weak, but hes still hitting above .300, and should see that power stroke come back, no matter how bad his team is.

Anyway, Id take the deal, I too like Kemp over Mauer
