Guy has asked if Hanley Ramirez is available, I said I would look but not a whole lot on his roster. Just wanted opinions on what the cafe thought?

Get - Jose Reyes, Andre Ethier, Heath Bell, Ervin Santana, and Tyler Colvin(farm)
Give - Hanley, Carlos Lee, Kerry Wood, and Ross Detwiler(farm)

i think if you can get that above deal that would be awesome, but it's probably too good to be true. Don't see him parting with his "younger player" as compared to yours just for Hanley. (i use just lightly)

you could propose the same deal and leave off santana, colvin, detwiler, too.


though i have to be honest i don't much if anything about Colvin and Detwiler.

yeah, i doubt he'll make that trade. You're getting 4 top players w/ a couple of nice years ahead of them, Hanley's obviously good, but Carlos Lee is getting old and w/ Wood you don't really know.

So take out at least Santana I say, imo Bell too. That would make it about a fair deal.

He rejected. He said he was going to counter but then as he was looking at a counter said that he doesn't want to give up on Reyes yet. Told him I need him in return if I am going to deal Hanley. I gave up Longoria and Pedroia last year to get him so not even sure I want to move him at this point, so it would take a lot for me to move him.

Sorry I'm a bit late on replying. That trade would have been awesome if it was accepted. I still believe that Reyes will have a decent season so getting him if you deal Hanley is key. Giving up Longoria and Pedroia for Hanley and then trading Hanley would be tough though. Thanks for your help with mine.
