Hamels for McCutchen/Posey???

Postby mytechmafia » Thu Jun 03, 2010 11:46 am

In a 8 team H2H league. I am looking to get one more solid starter but am not sure if Hamels will fit the bill or if I should even offer McCutchen/Posey. Im OK at the OF position so that is why I would be OK doing this. Should I make this trade?

I GET: Cole Hamels
I GIVE: McCutchen/Posey

My Team:

C: Vmart/Posey
1B: Votto
2B: Utley
3B: Youkilis/McGehee
SS: Reyes
OF: Braun/Rios/Granderson/Choo/McCutchen (Sizemore - DL, Beltran - DL)

SP: Gallardo/Lee/Lester/Garza/Scherzer
RP: Papelbon/Soria/Marmol

McCutchen for Hamels. I can't imagine Posey holding much weight in a 8 team redraft. i think that's ok. I'd rather see you go after a Verlander than Hamels, but Hamels would do. You definitely have the OF depth. And drop Sizemore now that surgery is planned, he'll likely be out all year.

Thanks for helping with mine. Not a terrible trade, but I think you could get more in return. Posey is only valuable if the other owner really needs a catcher. If you think Posey is the real deal, then maybe think about floating Vmart out there and see what you might be able to get... If you really want to stick with McCutchen/Posey, try to get a better SP than Hamels who isn't having a great season.

Definitely worth a shot. Never hurts to try catching another owner sleeping at the wheel. The worst thing that happens is he rejects it (like he should). Good idea.
