Hanley/Longoria Trade

Postby sox 06 » Thu Jun 03, 2010 10:51 am

I've been offered Evan Longoria and Chris Young (OF) for Hanley Ramirez and Torii Hunter. Should I accept for reject?

I wouldn't. It is close but you have no one to slide into the SS spot after dealing Hanley, depending on who his SS is try and get him back in the deal. I would also either switch out Young for a better OF in return or give up a lesser OF than Hunter.

The SS pool is not deep enough to trade Hanley (unless you are getting great value).

3B seems to be super deep this year, so I'd a) make sure you have a backup SS first and b) like the other guy said try to get more than Chris Young and less than Hunter

Mike Aviles has SS eligibility so I could put him at SS, Figgins/Hill at 2B and Figgins/Kouzmanoff at 3B.

However the drop from Hanley to Aviles at SS is extremely significant as compared to Hanley/Longo numbers. Also the drop from Hunter to Young is fairly significant IMO. Work out a better deal for yourself and the best player at the thinnest position.

I wouldn't. Hanley and Longo are similar...I'd even argue for taking Longo over Hanley depending on the roster, but I think Torii outperforms Chris Young quite a bit and makes the deal too lopsided.

I was going to suggest Hanley for Longo straight up. Looks like you could use the extra pop of Longo and you do have speed on your team in Pods and Ichiro already

His team isn't too impressive. How about Hanley/Hunter for Longoria/Ludwick? I don't see him taking Byrd and I want to keep Pods for his SB. Also, with Jones struggling I don't see him being a part of the deal.

Why type of league is this? Yearly? Keeper? Dynasty? That would help.

Help with mine?
