Good job
No. I agree that sometimes umps try to be more visible than they should. To say that that is the case here is ludicrous, no matter how bad the call was. I'll guarantee that Joyce would give ten year's salary to have that moment back and get that call right, now that he knows he blew it.

No. If he is out, you call him out. If he is safe, you call him safe. If he is safe and you call him out, then the "perfect game" is worthless.

I completely agree, you don't just give them calls for the sake of more perfect games. Thats why its so rare and there have only been 20 of them, if umps just gave calls away we would be in triple digit perfect games in no time.
The Jackson catch could have been the catch of the year and to follow it up with that was atrocious. I wonder if there is any link or youtube video where I can hear what the Tiger's announcers were saying as this happened.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
Heartbreaking. I wonder if Joyce will publicly apologize? He has to, doesn't he? I mean, that's a historically bad call, and is going to haunt him for the rest of his career.
Also: agreed that Galarraga's reaction was almost unfathomably classy. I will be a fan of the guy from here on out.
That Austin Jackson catch brought made me feel like I was watching the Pods snag last year.
