One more move WHIR

Postby Guzman24 » Wed Jun 02, 2010 4:01 pm

I'm wanting to make one more move here to put my team over the top. I'm currently in first place by 2 games even though my top bats haven't really been performing up to their standards quite yet. I expect a bit more from Utley,Howard,Reyes,Kemp and Arod in the 2nd half.

I'd like to package up either a SP or positional player plus my 1st round pick for an improvement somewhere and I'm looking for some ideas.

The thought is that I will have excess keepers at the end of the season to deal away before the draft and will probably have no problem getting that pick back.

So, that being said, where should I look to improve? Pitching or hitting? Any suggestions on who I should package up with my pick and who I should go after?

One thought was Liriano and a 1st for Halladay. Reynolds and a 1st for Carl Crawford. Something along those lines. 1st round picks are highly valued in our league and teams that are out of it are willing to pay for them. Obviously the player going the other way would have to be a solid keeper for the other team.

12 Teams 8 Keepers H2H 5x5 OBP instead of AVG

1B Howard
2B Utley
3B Arod
SS Reyes
OF Kemp,Ordonez,Hart
UT Reynolds

BN: Gardner,Span
DL: Montero

Thanks for the help on mine.

I'm not really sure where you can improve all that much. You have plenty of power, but maybe you could try a smaller trade for a catcher since Olivo might be splitting time. Maybe Olivo + one of your SP surplus for a better catcher.

I like the Reynolds for Crawford idea. You could use the OF help. The only thing is Reynolds might go on the DL. If you could get Halladay with Lirianno and a 1st then I would do it. Your team is pretty good.

your team looks good in a 12teamer.

i don't like the Reynolds for Crawford deal. You already have Gardner and Span, both of which can perform 3/4 of what crawford can without giving up Reynolds. Reynolds injury isn't serious. I personally don't think Liriano and 1st will get Halladay.

I definitely would look to up grade your OF though. Maybe move price and 1st to get M.Holliday, that might be too much though. Just a thought

thanks

I wouldn't make the Crawford deal either. I like the Liriano one much better, and that's what I might trade for. It definitely looks like your team could win it all, and Halladay would help a lot. You have a bunch of studs on offense, so I'm not sure much improving needs to be done there.
