Closer help (WHIR)

Postby Dr.Bloodmoney » Wed Jun 02, 2010 10:54 am

So I have terrible closers Kerry Wood, Brad Lid & John Axford. I Just dropped Chad Qualls because he just keeps killin me. I can pick up Jenks, Manuel Corpas or not much else. Think I need to end up with two. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Manny Corpas has been great and is a solid short term pickup, but when Huston Street comes back he will lose the job. Jenks has been really bad and Thornton might win the job. At this point I would just be going on a hunch of who will be better and I would say ride Corpas until you have to worry about it again.

Jenks has been shaky, but I don't think he's been as bad as some make him out to be. That said, Corpas is still a better bet for now because of Street's questionable health. He should continue to hang onto the closers job in COL for the time being. Things are more up in the air in CHW, but I do think Jenks will recover from whatever is bothering him and be a decent reliever for the remainder of the season.

I think Corpas for now is a good bet. Thanks for the help.

Corpas is the way to go for now. The wort case scenario for you is that you'll have to drop him for another closer if/when Street proves himself healthy.

Agree with all the above, Corpas is the way to go until Street comes back. You can always re-assess at that point.

Help with mine?
