Big Offer Just In - Morneau/Gregg for Upton/Santana

Postby felixthecat011 » Wed Jun 02, 2010 9:36 am

Just offered the following:

Send Justin Morneau,Min
Send Kevin Gregg, Tor
Receive Justin Upton, Ari OF
Receive Johan Santana, NYM SP

Non-keeper, 5x5 standard scoring, 10 team league.

I am hurting a little for power, but I don't think Morneau keeps this up all year. He should be solid through the break, but that's about it. Gregg may very well lose his job.

I just got Jenks from the wire and while I have a bunch of OFs, Upton is better than most of them:

Matt Holliday, StL
Juan Pierre, CWS
Carlos Gonzalez, Col
Colby Rasmus, StL
Brad Hawpe, Col
Vernon Wells, Tor

Should I accept???

Don't know the rest of your team so I'm not sure what you have to replace Morneau with... but that fact aside I say YES accept before he changes his mind. I think Upton is better than Morneau over the remainder of the year and even if he isnt it will be close. Meanwhile, Santana is a huuuugeee upgrade over Gregg.

What do you think of mine?

I say yes. Morneau, if I recall, slows in the second half, so I think you are trading him at peak value. Gregg too me has very little value now, especially in a 10 team league. Every thing you read in the last few days is that he has been horrible. I am not saying he will loose his job or not, but his value is low.

Upton is a legit top outfielder, and while he has not been tearing it up, his numbers are still pretty solid. Santana is still a top pitcher.
